Early December 2025 marked a special moment at our farm in Ziway. The grand opening of our new canteen marked an important step that we look back on with pride and which means a lot to our people.

A canteen has been in operation in Bishoftu for some time. The desire to also create a place in Ziway where employees could have lunch together daily had been alive for years. The opening of this canteen makes that wish a reality. From now on, all colleagues on site can enjoy a communal lunch every working day.

An opening with meaning

The opening took place in a beautiful and respectful ceremony, during which the local Abagedas, the village elders, officially blessed the canteen. A special moment that highlighted the importance of this step

Healthy meals, put together

Together with a local caterer and Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) Ethiopia has developed a varied menu, with an emphasis on nutritional value and balance. The aim is clear: to provide employees with daily access to a nutritious meal that contributes to their health and energy.

More than just lunch

The response to the opening was heartwarming. The enthusiasm and commitment among employees were palpable. The canteen not only means a good meal, but also more peace and convenience during the working day. Employees no longer need to go home during their breaks and can eat together, which strengthens the team spirit and creates space for meetings.

We also hope that this facility will contribute to the well-being of our people and have a positive impact on their daily lives, including financially.
